At most Christian conferences, the speakers are well-known, highly educated, and naturally charismatic. But at Step Out of the Boat, our focus is different.
We bring together everyday people—farmers, truck drivers, homemakers—ordinary individuals who have stepped out in faith, clung to the Lord, and witnessed His power in their lives. Many of our speakers come from an Amish background or were once part of similarly legalistic or cult-like groups. Their stories aren’t polished performances; they’re real, raw testimonies of God’s faithfulness in the midst of uncertainty.
In addition to these powerful testimonies, various authors and ministries are invited to set up displays and share their work, providing resources that encourage and equip believers in their faith journey.
This conference is about authentic faith in action—because when God moves, it’s not reserved for the well-known, but for anyone willing to trust Him.

What is the Step Out of The Boat Conference?

The heart of the Step Out of The Boat Conference is simple:
- To witness how God transforms lives when people step out in faith and follow Him wholeheartedly.
- To connect with fellow believers who share similar journeys and experiences.
- To hear God’s voice and be prepared to act on His calling.
- To refocus on what truly matters.
- To awaken to the realities unfolding around us.
Faith isn’t always easy. When God calls us beyond our comfort zones, holding fast can be a challenge. But stepping out in obedience opens the door to His incredible plans.
Remember:
-
- By faith, David faced Goliath with a slingshot.
- By faith, Esther risked everything to save her people.
- By faith, Peter stepped out of the boat.
Peter—a simple fisherman—showed us that real faith requires action. He didn’t just acknowledge Jesus’ call; he stepped out, walked on water, and experienced the miraculous.
The other disciples watched in awe, but only Peter knew what it felt like to walk where human feet had never walked before.
Step Out of the Boat is a conference for individuals and families ready to be inspired by the faith of others—to step into the calling God has placed on their hearts.
- By faith, Esther risked everything to save her people.
- By faith, David faced Goliath with a slingshot.
The Basic Details of the Conference:
- Each Step Out of the Boat Conference will feature 20-25 speakers (both men and women) who will encourage you with their stories.

- We hold family-style meals and encourage fellowship with one another.
- This is a family event. Bring your spouse and children, and invite your friends and neighbors!
The Meaning of Stepping Out of the Boat
Written by Andrew Geesey
Stepping out of the boat – means getting out of your comfort zone. It means doing something you’ve never done before, or something that seems impossible or risky. It could be sharing your faith with someone, volunteering for a ministry, giving more generously, or making a big life change.
Stepping out of the boat – requires faith and obedience. It means listening to the voice of Jesus and responding with a yes, even if you don’t fully understand or feel ready. It means trusting that he will be with you and empower you to do his will.
Stepping out of the boat – involves facing your fears and doubts. It means not letting the storms and waves of life distract you or discourage you from following Jesus. It means keeping your eyes on him and relying on his grace and strength.
Stepping out of the boat – leads to growth and blessing. It means experiencing the power and presence of Jesus in a new way. It means seeing him work miracles and wonders in your life and in the lives of others. It means worshiping him and glorifying him as the Son of God.
A Poem Inspired by the Story
Step out of the boat
And follow the Lord
He’s calling you to come
And walk on the water
Step out of the boat
And trust in his word
He’s promising you more
Then you can imagine
Step out of the boat
And face your fears
He’s holding your hand
And catching your tears
Step out of the boat
And see his glory
He’s showing you wonders
And writing your story
