If there ever was a time in history for men and women to step out of the boat and be used by God to make a difference, that time is now!
It’s easy for us to get caught up in the day-to-day. We lose focus on God and eternity. The pressures of life can be so enormous between relationships, bills, work, and managing our homes that we can forget to take a moment to stop and listen for God’s voice in the chaos.

Just what is the Step Out of The Boat Conference?
The heart of the Step Out of The Boat Conference is this:
- To hear what God is doing in other people’s lives once they stepped out by faith and began to follow relentlessly after Him.
- To fellowship with other Christians with similar backgrounds and stories.
- To hear God’s voice and be ready to act on what He calls us to do.
- To shift our focus back to what matters most.
- To wake up to the reality of things going on around us.
Faith can be a tricky thing. It’s hard to hold fast when you hear God’s voice telling you to do something that might push you outside your comfort zone.
Remember:
- By faith, Noah built an ark.
- By faith, David faced Goliath with a slingshot.
- By faith, Esther put her life on the line to save her nation.
- By faith, Peter stepped out of the boat.
Peter, a simple family man, a fisherman, who stepped out of the boat showed us that real faith results in action to go to where Jesus is and wants us to be.
Because of Peter’s faith in action, he walked on water.
The other 11 (who stayed in the boat) marveled. Generations have talked about it, but only Peter experienced walking on water.
Step Out of the Boat is a conference for individuals and families who are ready to be encouraged by the faith of others to do the things that God is asking them to do.
The Basic Details of the Conference:
- Each Step Out of the Boat Conference will feature 20-25 speakers (both men and women) who will encourage you with their stories.
- The conference also offers a children's ministry so that you can focus on the speakers, and your children can have fun, make new friends, and learn more about Jesus.
- We hold family-style meals and encourage fellowship with one another.
- This is a family event. Bring your spouse and children, and invite your friends and neighbors!
The Meaning of Stepping Out of the Boat
Written by Andrew Geesey
Stepping out of the boat – means getting out of your comfort zone. It means doing something you’ve never done before, or something that seems impossible or risky. It could be sharing your faith with someone, volunteering for a ministry, giving more generously, or making a big life change.
Stepping out of the boat – requires faith and obedience. It means listening to the voice of Jesus and responding with a yes, even if you don’t fully understand or feel ready. It means trusting that he will be with you and empower you to do his will.
Stepping out of the boat – involves facing your fears and doubts. It means not letting the storms and waves of life distract you or discourage you from following Jesus. It means keeping your eyes on him and relying on his grace and strength.
Stepping out of the boat – leads to growth and blessing. It means experiencing the power and presence of Jesus in a new way. It means seeing him work miracles and wonders in your life and in the lives of others. It means worshiping him and glorifying him as the Son of God.
A Poem Inspired by the Story
Step out of the boat
And follow the Lord
He’s calling you to come
And walk on the water
Step out of the boat
And trust in his word
He’s promising you more
Then you can imagine
Step out of the boat
And face your fears
He’s holding your hand
And catching your tears
Step out of the boat
And see his glory
He’s showing you wonders
And writing your story
